We have amazing new windows in our auditorium, thanks to the hard work of Barb, Rach, Deb, and others.
Our ‘Kotahitanga Window’ displays a hongi in the lower left corner. In colours of creation this symbolises not only unity between people, but also between people and creation, and heaven and earth. The mingling of the breaths rises up in an act of worship – kotahitanga as worship.
Our ‘Identity Window’ contains images from a number of words spoken over our community that mean a lot to us. The fig tree, the tui, the huia feather, the raranga. If you don’t know the stories of these images in our community come and ask us – we would love to share their meaning with you.
